The hot air thermostat is a device combination consisting of three individual devices in one case, protection class IP40, with the functions of a temperature controller, temperature monitor and a fixed safety temperature limiter. The switch head is fixed via two screws through the bottom section of the case. With the aid of a screwdriver, the desired switch-off temperature of the temperature controller and the temperature monitor can be individually set on a scale on the inside after removing the case lid. The temperature controller and temperature monitor are characterized by a high switching point accuracy of +/-4 K in the upper third of the scale. The safety temperature limiter has a switching point accuracy of +0/-5 K and is set per default. A decisive advantage is that no additional auxiliary power is required for temperature measurement. The electrical connection is made at a terminal strip mounted on a platinum. The device can directly switch a maximum permissible switching capacity of AC 230 volts / 10 A. The temperature controller has a switching differential (hysteresis) of approx. 14 K, the switching differential of the temperature monitor is approx. 6 K. After reaching the adjusted setpoint, the microswitches of both devices switch over and after falling below the switch-off temperature by the value of the switching differential, they automatically switch back to the original state. The safety temperature limiter opens the switching path and locks when the set temperature is reached. The switch can only be manually unlocked again after the temperature has cooled down by approx. 10 K. The holding tube of the thermostat is made of copper and has an insertion length of approx. 200mm and a diameter of approx. 10 mm. The three measuring probes are also made of copper, have a diameter of 4 mm each and protrude approx. 2/3 from the holding tube. Thus, the air temperature can be recorded optimally. The case lid is made of polycarbonate, the bottom section of the case is made of aluminium die-cast. Warm air thermostats are particularly suitable for use in warm air systems according to DIN 4794, for example in large rooms, halls or workshops. The device is approved according to DIN EN 14597 and has an EAC approval.
