Due to its shock-resistant case with high-quality plastic cover and aluminum die-cast lower part, the 1-pole mechanical surface-mounted thermostat is very robust and can also be used in rough conditions.The measuring system used operates on the fluid expansion principle and can be used without any problems up to a maximum permissible probe temperature of 135°C. The smooth round sensor made of copper has a diameter of 6 mm with a probe length of approx. 87 mm. The capillary of the thermostat is also made of copper and is rolled up inside the case on delivery. Taking into account a bending radius of 5 mm, the capillary can be led out of the case and laid flexible as needed.The nickel-plated brass protection tube included in delivery has a diameter of 8 mm and can be mounted with a G 1/2 Form A thread according to DIN 3852/2. The maximum permissible ambient temperature at the switch head (protection class IP54) is 80 °C and with the aid of a setpoint adjuster, the desired switch-off temperature can be easily set on a scale. The case is mounted directly on the case bottom as wall mounting or by means of a tightening band on a pipe. The temperature controller is characterized by a high switching point accuracy of +/-3 % in the upper third of scale. The integrated temperature compensation reduces ambient temperature impacts on the switching head to a minimum. A decisive advantage is that no additional auxiliary energy is necessary for temperature measurement. The electrical connection is made by PushIn© terminals, which significantly reduces installation time compared to conventional screw connections. The maximum permissible switching capacity is AC 230 V / 16 A. The thermostat has a switching differential (hysteresis) of approx. 3 K and automatically switches back to the original state after the temperature has fallen below the switch-off temperature by this value. It is very flexible and can be used in building automation as well as in heating, air conditioning and ventilation technology. Further areas of application are the plastics industry, apparatus and mechanical engineering as well as furnace construction and temperature monitoring in laboratory and climatic chambers. The device is approved according to DIN EN 14597 and has an EAC approval.
