Cylinder head

The cylinder head is the component above the cylinder that closes off the combustion chamber at the top.
It should be mentioned that 'top' can also be below the engine, depending on the type of engine and suspension.
From the view of the oscillating piston the cylinder head should be on the top.

The part itself is a very complex one, which is very complex and therefore expensive to produce.
Among other things, it houses the inlet and outlet and the valve control for the gas change process,
oil ducts for the lubrication of the valve train and in case of water-cooled engines, also cooling ducts.
This part also contains the spark plugs for gasoline engines, the injection valves for gasoline direct injection engines
and the injection nozzles and glow plugs for diesel engines.
