Pramac

Pramac power generators & industrial trucks – top quality from Italy

Pramac is an Italian company based in Siena, which specialises in the manufacture of power generators and industrial trucks. Pramac also has its own motorsport division in two-wheel motorsport, which is active in MotoGP and MotoE.
The managing director of the Pramac group of companies is Pascal Verriere.
Pramac offices can be found mainly in Europe, where Pramac has 8 locations spread across Russia, the UK, Poland, Germany, France, Spain, Romania and the main headquarters in Italy.
A further 7 locations are spread across the Dominican Republic, Brazil and Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, China, Singapore and Australia.

Pramac's customer base includes almost all sectors, both commercial and industrial, such as the logistics industry, telecommunications, event organisers and even mining.

The history of Pramac

The origins of the Pramac Group date back to 1966, when the Campinoti family founded a company to manufacture construction machinery such as concrete mixers and cable hoists.
For the first 15 years of its existence, L'Europea sold its products exclusively on the national market in Italy.
The switch to material handling equipment and generators then took place in the 1980s, before distribution became increasingly globalised in the 1990s.

Power generators

Pramac manufactures generators for all kinds of applications in various sizes and designs.
The power range of these generators thus also lies in areas between 10 and 3600 kVA.
The operation of such generators mainly takes place with petrol or diesel.
Pramac sources the diesel and petrol engines primarily from Perkins, Yanmar, MTU and Baudouin, but manufactures many of the engines for its mobile generators itself.

But as the demand for greener energy grows, Pramac has also developed gas-powered generators.

Pramac's generators are offered both as stationary units, but also as portable or mobile units for practical handling.

Mobile units

The range of mobile generators and other devices is primarily aimed at customer groups who want to carry out small to medium-sized applications and do not have a suitable connection to the power grid at the site, or need a power supply in places that are difficult to reach.
These devices are used, among other things, by DIY enthusiasts and garden owners, as a power source for leisure activities such as festivals, or for work in the construction industry.
Other small appliances made by Pramac include high-pressure cleaners, floodlights, water pumps, or welding power generators, which offer a combination of power generator and welder.

Stationary units

Pramac's stationary generators serve as the main power source, as peak load generators in case of increased power demand, or as mains replacements with automatic emergency power.
Such units are used where there is no connection to the public power grid at all, or where a grid failure would have significant consequences, for example in hospitals, nuclear power plants, or server rooms - in other words, wherever critical consumers are used.
Pramac's stationary units are available in power ranges from 10 kVA to 830 kVA or even from 815 kVA to 3600 kVA.

Generators running on gas

Generators running on natural gas offer the user several advantages over running on diesel or petrol.
One key advantage is the connection to the natural gas supply.
Since this runs underground, the supply is largely protected from the effects of the weather.
Likewise, the supply can be maintained almost permanently, which is not possible with fuels such as diesel and petrol - these have to be temporarily stored in tanks and replenished by external suppliers.
In addition, unlike diesel, natural gas does not age. This eliminates the need for annual testing (diesel pest) and maintenance of the fuel.
Due to their much lighter construction, gas-powered generators can also be installed in hard-to-reach areas.
Last but not least, gas-powered petrol engines are available in large quantities, making them inexpensive to purchase.
Pramac uses engines from the American company Generac for its gas-powered generators.
The units are available in main output power ranges between 180 kVA and 600 kVA and offer both 230 V and 400 V output voltage in all versions.

Floor conveyor technology

Another business segment of the company is the manufacture of industrial trucks.
Such equipment is used in many different, economic areas, whether industrial or commercial.
The product range here extends from classic, manual pallet trucks, pallet trucks with weighing function, pallet trucks with function for lifting up to a height of 80cm, to electrically driven low-lift trucks in various designs, to pedestrian stackers, both manual, semi-automatic, and electric.
In addition, Pramac manufactures mobile, electrically powered equipment such as commissioning trolleys, lifting platforms or lift tables, which can be used as adjustable work tables or for another variety of loading and lifting operations.

Service

Pramac offers a comprehensive range of spare parts that can be found quickly and easily on the website.
Customers can place orders here and have direct access to user manuals, catalogues, price lists and much more.
Pramac is also characterised by a highly competent after-sales programme, with which customers are successfully supported long after the purchase.

Motorsport

Pramac is the main sponsor and co-owner of a motorsport team active in both MotoGP and MotoE with different teams and riders.
Since 2002, the Pramac Racing team has competed for the World Championship title in MotoGP.
At first, the team was known as Pramac Honda Racing, racing Honda NSR500 motorbikes.
Between 2005 and 2007, Pramac Racing and D'Antin MotoGP merged and raced under the name Pramac D'Antin on Ducati bikes, before telecom subsidiary Alice became the team's sponsor and namesake in 2008.
By 2009, however, they were back in business as Pramac Racing, and in the following years continued to build on their relationship with Ducati, becoming Ducati's primary supported team.

In 2017, 2018 and 2020, the team finished fifth in the world standings in each year, celebrating its greatest successes to date.

From 2021, Pramac will compete in MotoGP with the Ducati Desmosedici GP, while the MotoE team will be equipped with motorbikes from Energica.
